To apply, students should submit:
- - a one-page abstract describing their current research interests, and
- - a resume,
and specify in the request for which one of the two events they apply, or whether they are interested
to the combined registration to both events.
Only full-time students can apply, and they will have to show a valid student Id at the Symposium.
The submission should be sent by e-mail, preferably in plain text, specifying "Application to MS grant"
in the subject field, to both:
The submission must be received by May 20th, 2002.
Moreover, a separate e-mail message supporting the application should be sent by the student's
advisor or the department chair to the above addresses.
A committee formed by the two Chairs and by a representative of Microsoft will make the
selection, based on:
- Relevance of the research interests to the technical content of the events
- The scientific merits of the candidates as evidenced by the sent resume
The selected students will receive a free student registration for participation to either or both
events.
The notification will be sent by June 10th, 2002.
